Holland team showed today that is one of the candidates to
conquer World Hockey League's title, which is being played at
Natación y Gimnasia's stadium.
No more than 15 minutes of the match had past and Ducth team
won South Corea by 3-0. Goals were scored by Lidewij Welten, two
times, and by Kitty van Male. Holland went to the interval
deserving the triumph, with a great ballon control and a high
efficiency in scoring.
At the second time situation changed considerably. Rain, that
was felt on the stadium, made the game slower and dutch attacks
failed remarkably. That opportunity was profitted by Eunbi
Cheon, who converted for the Asian girls.
The match ended 3-1 and the team coached by Argentinian "Maxi"
Caldas classified for semifinals with an ideal counter, after
adding their third consecutive victory after the 6-0 against
Germany and the 3-2 against England. Besides this, Dutch girls
are the highest scoring team of the tournment with 12 goals,
with an average of 4 by game.
They prefer the heat
Incredible, but real, when asking Holland team's captain,
Maartje Paumen and Welten if they preferred today's rain or
previous days' heat, both coincided that they prefer to play
with 40° C. The field, very wet, played against one of the
favourite's tournment teams.
