Los filmes extranjeros tratan temas políticos

Los Angeles.- En un año en el que la parte más sombría de la política aflora en los filmes que aspiran al Oscar a mejor película (véase “Munich” o “Buenas noches, y buena suerte”), en la categoría de mejor película extranjera concurren producciones que también se mueven por esos ámbitos, a excepción de las de Italia y Sudáfrica, que tratan temas nada ajenos a los estadounidenses: los abusos a menores, la primera, y las diferencias de clase, la segunda.
Si el año pasado la española “Mar adentro”, de Alejandro Amenábar, ganó el Oscar en esta categoría, esta vez ninguna producción de habla hispana se ha colado entre las cinco candidatas.
De los 54 largometrajes presentados para el premio también quedaron fuera por diversas razones algunas de las mejores producciones europeas del año  pasado, como la belga “L`Enfant”, ganadora en el último Festival de Cannes, “Saraband”, del maestro Ingmar Bergman, o la franco austriaca “Caché”, de Michael Haneke.
Las cinco producciones candidatas son: la italiana “Don’t tell”, dirigida por Cristina Comencini; la francesa “Joyeux Noël”, del director francés Christian Carion; la alemana “Sophie Scholl”,  de Marc Rothemund ; la sudafricana “Tsotsi”dirigida por Gavin Hood; y “Paradise now”, de Palestina, que dirigió Hany Abu-Assad, y que ya provocó una gran polémica.
